Early recovery is the most fragile and vulnerable phase of the recovery journey. Even though support during this period is critical, it is significantly underfunded. GRI invests in organizations that build “recovery capital”—the social, personal, and community resources that sustain long-term recovery.
Vision: A world in which all people in early recovery have access to the supports they need to thrive.
Mission: To increase private philanthropy and public investment in science-based recovery support services, expand recovery infrastructure nationwide, and elevate recovery as a core part of the national response to substance use disorder.
Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation is a national community foundation dedicated to strengthening and funding community-based organizations that provide support for people in early recovery from substance use disorder (SUD). GRI focuses on expanding the availability, quality, and visibility of long-term recovery support services.
